Palace is not a free adjective

In France, Palace distinction is awarded to selected five-star hotels through a specific process and criteria. Not every luxurious or famous property carries it. Check the official current list when booking, then look beyond the label: location, room, quiet and service must fit your stay.

Choose by district

Avenue Montaigne suits fashion and Champs-Élysées; Vendôme and Saint-Honoré suit jewellery and the centre; the Left Bank offers a more residential and cultural Paris. A prestigious address far from your plans adds traffic and time. Map three daily journeys before comparing rates.

03

The exact room

Category, size, floor, view, exposure, windows, bed and bathroom vary within one hotel. A wide-angle photograph is insufficient. Ask floor plan or dimensions, what view is guaranteed, nearby works, lift access and extra-bed policy. Compare rates including breakfast, taxes and cancellation.

04

Spa and booking

A hotel spa may or may not accept outside guests, and pool, sauna or gym access may depend on age, timing or booking. Reserve after checking actual treatment time, contraindications, therapist, cancellation and gratuity. A branded treatment is not automatically medical care.

05

Service and total cost

Concierge, transfers, pressing, in-room dining, minibar and late checkout can transform the budget. Ask inclusions and prices before use. The best experience is not necessarily the most expensive hotel but the one removing important friction without charging for services you do not use.
