Cookies and ad choices

What portal cookies do, who provides them and how to take control.Reviewed 31 August 2026
01

Three groups

Strictly necessary technologies deliver pages, distribute traffic, protect against abuse and retain some technical settings. Audience measurement provides aggregated insight into pages and journeys. Advertising technologies display, cap, protect and measure ads.

A cookie is a small file; comparable technologies may use local storage or a device identifier. Duration varies by purpose and provider.

02

Consent

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google requires affected publishers to use a certified consent management platform for personalised ads. Where required, the message shown should provide a clear choice and pass it to authorised partners.

Rejecting personalisation does not necessarily remove all advertising. Non-personalised ads may still use limited information for frequency, security, fraud prevention and aggregated measurement, subject to applicable consent.

03

Manage or delete

Your browser can block or delete cookies, clear site data and restrict cross-site tracking. Strong restrictions may reset a language preference or complicate some security protections.

When a consent interface is shown, use its management link to reopen choices. Google’s ad settings also let you control personalisation associated with your account or browser.

Updates

Provider and purpose lists may change when hosting, analytics or advertising changes. This page is reviewed when a service adds an identifier or materially changes the uses described.
