FRA9 · COMPARISON
Choose by use, not noise.
Saint Louis: open lightness
Saint Louis prioritises lightness, flexibility and direct access. That simplicity suits bulky objects but offers little structure or closure. Test it loaded because thin handles, interior organisation and opening strongly affect comfort. An added organiser can change weight and stress on corners.
Anjou and Artois
Anjou adds reversible canvas-and-leather construction, bringing more weight and a different feel. Artois develops the tote with zip closure, reinforced corners and more structure. Compare security, flexibility and how the bag stands empty; the choice is not only price.
Saïgon and structure
Saïgon uses a more architectural construction, wooden elements and trunk-making references. It behaves more like a structured object than a soft tote. Check opening, usable depth, rigidity against the body and sensitivity of projecting parts before choosing it for a mobile day.
Canvas and marking
Goyardine canvas, leather, edges and personal marking age differently. Ask about use limits, timing and the effect of marking on returns or resale. Personalisation can make an object more personal while reducing future buyers; it should not be treated as an automatic investment.
Authentication and service
In resale, assess provenance, invoice, dimensions, construction, wear and returns together. Pattern repetition alone proves nothing. For a significant purchase, favour a seller offering independent examination and clear recourse. In a boutique, ask about care and repair for the exact reference, especially after personalisation.
