FRA9 · COMPARISON
Choose by use, not noise.
Loulou and Niki: two kinds of softness
Loulou combines quilting, flap and chain in a soft yet ordered shape. Niki often uses visually aged leather and a relaxed attitude. Compare slouch, access, chain weight and corner hold. Softness that looks appealing empty may change greatly when loaded.
Sac de Jour: structure
Sac de Jour uses handles, gusseted sides and a more formal silhouette. Size decides whether it works as compact, day or work bag. Measure laptop and files, check closure and total weight. An elegant large size that is heavy empty may become difficult on transport.
Kate and evening
Kate favours a slim line, flap, chain and front signature. Structure can limit capacity; test phone, card, keys and glasses together. A bright chain or tassel adds presence but also weight and friction points. Check comfort against delicate fabric.
Le 5 à 7 and shoulder carry
Le 5 à 7 follows a compact under-arm line, with access and closure varying by version. Try it with jacket and coat and see whether the handle stays in place. The shape suits essentials, not necessarily a full day; compare real contents before choosing size.
Leather, hardware and resale
Smooth, grained and suede leathers plus vintage finishes mark differently. Inspect corners, flap, chain-contact areas, lining and clasp. In resale, intentional patina should not hide damage, odour or repair. Ask provenance and returns, then compare official imagery for the same reference and period.
