The 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival opens from Tuesday 8 to Sunday 13 September across the Old Port and Port Canto. Organisers list more than 710 boats and yachts from 5 to 55 metres, over 680 exhibitors and roughly 56,600 expected visitors. New launches, sea trials, equipment and marine services make this more than a display of large yachts.
Opening hours and Friday late night
Public hours are 10:00–19:00 from Tuesday to Thursday, 10:00–22:00 on Friday 11 September, 10:00–19:00 on Saturday and 10:00–18:00 on Sunday. Admission is advertised from €19 and children under ten enter free; check ticket categories, services and availability on the official ticketing site before purchase.
Two harbours with different roles
The Old Port concentrates major shipyards, motor-yacht launches and immediate access to the Palais des Festivals. Port Canto includes sailing, brokerage and areas linked to water toys. The show is not one continuous hall: shortlist priority exhibitors and demonstrations first, then use the official connection between the two harbours.
A workable one-day visit
Arrive at opening, use the morning for the harbour closest to your purpose, eat beyond the busiest axis and reserve the afternoon for the second site. Request appointments in advance for a detailed tour or sea trial: an entry ticket does not guarantee access aboard every yacht or a test at sea. Stable shoes, sun protection and photo ID matter more than gala clothes.
Getting there from Nice, Antibes or Paris
Cannes station is a short walk from the Old Port. TER trains link Nice-Ville, Nice-Saint-Augustin, Antibes and Cannes; check live operation on the day. Cannes Tourism also lists a direct motorway coach from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport. From Paris, TGV services reach Cannes, but arriving the previous day is safer than a tight connection before a business meeting.
What the event reveals about luxury economics
The festival connects shipyards, designers, engines, electronics, port services, finance, insurance, charter and high-end tourism. For a buyer, the asking price is only one cost: berth, maintenance, crew, fuel, insurance, tax and resale need separate estimates. For an industry visitor, a diary of qualified meetings matters more than the number of boats photographed.
What to recheck
Detailed programming, exhibitors, trials and admission conditions can change before opening. Recheck ticketing, the two-harbour plan, transport and weather the day before and again on the morning of the visit. The show closes at 18:00 on Sunday 13 September.
