A reported agreement, not yet an official transfer

L’Équipe and several Turkish outlets report that Galatasaray and RB Leipzig have agreed a loan for El Chadaille Bitshiabu. The defender is expected in Istanbul for a medical and signature. Early on 2 September 2026, no final announcement appeared on either club’s official channels, so this remains a reported agreement rather than a definitively registered transfer.

From PSG’s academy to RB Leipzig

Born on 16 May 2005, Bitshiabu developed at Paris Saint-Germain and made 19 first-team appearances between 2021 and 2023. Leipzig recruited him in July 2023 as a long-term development defender. His route therefore connects three FRA9 audiences: French academy football, the Bundesliga and the Süper Lig.

03

What kind of defender would Galatasaray be getting?

Bitshiabu is a left-footed centre-back with power in duels and the ability to start build-up play from the left. His pace across large spaces can suit a high defensive line. At 21, much of the attraction is his development ceiling as well as current performance; an athletic profile is not a guarantee of an immediate starting place.

04

Why Galatasaray moved for him

The club needed a young option to deepen central defence, preserve left-footed distribution and fit domestic rules for younger foreign players. A loan reduces the risk of an immediate purchase and creates a season-long test of his adjustment to Süper Lig tempo, Rams Park pressure and European competition.

05

Reading his Leipzig season carefully

Bitshiabu comes off 14 appearances, down from 28 in the previous season according to L’Équipe. That fall alone does not distinguish selection hierarchy, availability and tactical context. The medical, recent minutes and the coach’s stated role will be more useful than highlight clips when judging immediate readiness.

06

Loan, option and fees: what remains unconfirmed

Several outlets describe a loan with an option to buy and circulate differing figures. FRA9 treats none of those numbers as contractual until Galatasaray or Leipzig confirms duration, option and conditions. An option may be voluntary, become mandatory under conditions or depend on targets; these structures are not equivalent.

07

Four steps before registration

Arrival in Istanbul does not close the deal. A medical, signature, document filing and regulatory registration still have to follow. An airport photograph or a shirt held for cameras does not carry the same status as a club statement and completed registration.

08

The next reliable signal

The next expected signal is a Galatasaray or RB Leipzig statement defining the exact status of the move. Squad number, registration and a first matchday selection would follow. This file will be corrected if the medical, contractual structure or destination changes.
