What happens from 10 to 19 September
Paris Design Week turns the city into a ten-day design trail. Showrooms, galleries, schools, historic houses and shops host installations, launches and encounters. It is separate from the professional Maison&Objet fair, held from 10 to 14 September at Paris Nord Villepinte.
Choose one district, not fifty addresses
Start with a single area — the Marais, Saint-Germain, Opéra-Concorde or Bastille — then add two headline venues. Events are spread out and walking time matters. A coherent day beats a list of missed openings.
The FRA9 route
Use the morning for galleries and showrooms, eat in the chosen district, and keep late afternoon for one major installation. Recheck hours on the day: some venues open only for a launch or require free registration.
Maison&Objet or Paris Design Week?
Maison&Objet is primarily a trade fair in Villepinte; Paris Design Week unfolds across the capital and also welcomes the public. City-break travellers should focus on the urban programme, while design professionals should check access conditions for the fair.
Getting around
The metro is simplest between districts, but grouping visits prevents wasted crossings. Wear proper shoes, carry a power bank and save the addresses offline. At night, check the last metro or plan a direct ride home.
