A broader partnership
The 25 August declaration creates a strategic partnership council and broadens cooperation across defence, energy, health, emerging technologies, transport, tourism and culture.
Trade and projects
Bilateral trade approached $11.8bn in 2025. Announced areas include hydrogen, civil nuclear and renewable energy, alongside a proposed large leisure complex in Cergy-Pontoise.
Regional diplomacy
The text also addresses Gaza, Lebanon, Iran and regional security, making it both an economic programme and a more structured diplomatic alignment.
