The 2026 awards
The result in one minute
The 79th edition ran from 12 to 23 May 2026. Cristian Mungiu’s Fjord won the Palme d’Or and Andrei Zvyagintsev’s Minotaur the Grand Prix. The jury awarded a joint Best Director prize to Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi for La Bola Negra and to Paweł Pawlikowski for Fatherland.
The feature-film awards
Emmanuel Marre won Best Screenplay for Notre Salut. Valeska Grisebach’s Das geträumte Abenteuer received the Jury Prize. Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto jointly won Best Actress for Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s All of a Sudden, while Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne shared Best Actor for Lukas Dhont’s Coward.
All 22 Competition films
The Competition comprised Amarga Navidad, A Woman’s Life, La Bola Negra, Coward, Parallel Tales, Paper Tiger, Das geträumte Abenteuer, All of a Sudden, The Unknown, Another Day, Sheep in the Box, Hope, Nagi Notes, Gentle Monster, A Man of His Time, Fjord, The Birthday Party, Moulin, Fatherland, The Man I Love, El Ser Querido and Minotaur. Pierre Salvadori’s The Electric Kiss opened the Festival out of competition.
Who made the decisions?
Park Chan-wook chaired the feature-film jury alongside Demi Moore, Ruth Negga, Laura Wandel, Diego Céspedes, Isaach de Bankolé, Paul Laverty, Chloé Zhao and Stellan Skarsgård. Carla Simón chaired the short film and La Cinef jury with Park Ji-Min, Ali Asgari, Salim Kechiouche and Magnus von Horn.
Un Certain Regard, shorts and new voices
Sandra Wollner’s Everytime won the Un Certain Regard Prize. Federico Luis’s Para los contrincantes received the Short Film Palme d’Or. These strands are not footnotes: Un Certain Regard presented 19 features, including six debuts, while La Cinef concentrated on film-school work.

Release dates differ by country, so follow the official film page to its distributor, cinema date and legal platform. The next Festival is scheduled for 11–22 May 2027.
